A long time ago, when poetry and love were part of life on earth, a chamois (mountain goat is more commonly used) came down from the mountains every night to spend time with a deer that lived in the pastures near to where our chalet was built.  From their love was born a strange animal, half-mountain goat, half-deer, who sadly never found a similar mate with whom to continue this distinct lineage.  We pay homage to this beautiful mythical beast by taking its name as our hotel (Le Chabi) so that his name will live on forever as will the memory of a love story from long ago.
